AEQUIPA

Physical activity is a key contributor to healthy ageing. In spite of the widely known beneficial effects, only a small proportion of older adults are physically active. AEQUIPA is a regional prevention research network comprising six universities, two research institutes and the health economy organisation of the Bremen-Oldenburg metropolitan region. The network's core themes are promoting physical activity among older adults (65+).

Research Data Day 2026

Meet the Northwest Data Space at Research Data Day 2026 in Bremen.

The U Bremen Research Alliance and the interdisciplinary Bremen Data Competence Center DataNord jointly invite you to Research Data Day on April 15, 2026, starting at 4:30 PM, at the Kassenhalle at Domshof in Bremen. The event focuses on data initiatives from the Bremen–Oldenburg region and creates space for exchange and networking.

Research data form the foundation of responsible science, innovation capacity, and society’s ability to act. They play a key role in driving the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. At the same time, AI applications can efficiently support processes in research data management.

The Northwest region has a strong research data ecosystem, which will present itself during the evening. Participants include BIPS and NFDI4Health. Together, the initiatives presented create reliable structures for sustainable research data management, secure data access, and cross-institutional collaboration according to the FAIR principles.

At this event, the stakeholders will discuss key issues such as IT security, data sovereignty, and the trustworthy use of AI, with the aim of strengthening the connections between research, policy, and practice.
